A Scale Development Study Intended for Mathematics Teacher Candidates: Mathematical Visualization Perception Scale

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that measures mathematical visualization perceptions for mathematics teacher candidates. Therefore, the type survey research. Research was carried out with 462 (336 Female, 125 Male) candidates from university located in Eastern Anatolia region Turkey 2018-2019 spring season. Exploratory confirmatory factor analyzes were performed analysis research data. In process development Mathematical Visualization Perception Scale (MVPS); preparation pool material, testing validity scope appearance, conducting trial application, ensuring construction validity, calculating reliability establishing final scale followed. As result exploratory analysis, 5-point Likert-type consisting 42 items, 6 factors [Additional Drawing (AD), Spatial Thinking (ST), Direction Concept (DC), Relation Daily Life (RDL), Transition Algebra Geometry (TAG) (TGA)] created. Cronbach Alpha internal stability coefficient these calculated as 0.938. structure also confirmed by analysis. findings obtained, it suggested researchers who will related field evaluate using different sample groups or variables.
